Building Works in Parish Room
I had a very positive and useful meeting with Martyn our builder and Richard our architect this morning.
They are starting on Monday 23/01 at 8.30am. The plans below need a bit of explaining – ask me and I talk you through what is going to happen!
The good news is that the kitchen and the toilets in the hall remain accessible. 🙂 This means we can continue to do coffee/tea and other bits of hospitality during this period of time. We can’t go through the Parish Room but through the vicarage garden and the door through the Christians Aware Office – which should be ok as the paths have luckily been gravelled last year!
Can you help to get things ready?
In the meantime we need to clear out everything from the sacristy and the Parish Room by Saturday 21st January. This includes all vestments and all contents of the safe we are likely to use. I have started with packing up but could do with some help! If anybody has cardboard removal boxes they would also come in very useful indeed.
We are meeting on Saturday 7th January and Saturday 21st January for our usual church care slot from 9.15am to 11.15am. This week need to remove the trees and move the crib to the back of the church. If you have time to join us your presence would be most welcome indeed.
If you have a bit of time on either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (7-9 January) next week to help me pack and move things out of the parish room and sacristy please let me know. I can happily bribe you with food and drink!

Community Leadership and Faith
Introduction
Following the Covid Pandemic, Brexit, the Ukraine war and the Cost of Living Crisis many people across all sectors have found themselves in positions of community leadership they neither applied nor specifically trained for.
Purpose of this event
The event wants to explore
- How did people end up in positions of community leadership?
- How have the global events of the past years changed their roles and tasks?
- How does their faith/spirituality influence what they are doing?
- How does being located in Leicester affect their story?
This event is deliberately not a forum for religious leaders or those representing a religion & belief institution, but for community leaders whose faith is part of their identity and motivates them to do what they are doing.
